For the perfectionist and those who require the finer things in life, a garage floor installed by Texas Tough Tops, will give you a clean and finished floor in one of the largest rooms of your home... the garage. Our epoxy floors will stand up to rigorous abuse, wear and tear and chemical spills such as gas and oil.

Residential Garage Floor Types

1. Chipped Style Epoxy Garage Floor ($4.95 / sq.ft)

Our epoxy is the highest grade. It is referred to as 100% solids epoxy. This is the highest possible quality. You won't find it at box stores

100% solids epoxy is very thick, very strong, chemical resistant to most common garage chemicals (oil/gas) and doesn't allow for "black tire marks."

Advantages of 100% solids epoxy
  • Thick coating; very strong. Not likely to peel.
  • Incredible showroom shine; the most beautiful of concrete coatings.
  • Excellent chemical resistance; no black tire marks.
  • Most affordable commercial grade coating.
Disadvantages of 100% solids epoxy
  • Can amber or "yellow" over the years; especially if exposed to regular UV rays (sun).
  • May need a simple sanding and Recoat after several years if exposed to lots of sun light.
  • More slippery when wet. (Although most easy to clean when dry). While it looks slippery when dry, it's actually quite grippy when dry. (Think of a basketball court)
2. Chipped Style Polyaspartic/Polyurea Garage Floor ($6.50 / sq.ft)

Our Polyaspartic is an outstanding product. These types of floors have been gaining popularity over the last few years due to their fast cure time and UV stability.

Polyaspartic floors, while much thinner than epoxy, are UV stable and will never yellow. Also, they are a bit more scratch resistant than epoxy; a bit harder.

The final finish of a polyaspartic floor will be a bit more satin finish and have an "orange peel" finish. It is possible that some faint roller lines will be noticed. These floors are much more textured and slip resistant due to the fact that they are thinner. However, this comes with certain advantages: they will never yellow and most slip resistant.

Advantages of Polyaspartic/Polyurea Garage floor:

  • UV stable. Non yellowing.
  • Most slip resistant
  • Allows for patio, driveway and outdoor areas to be coated since UV stable
  • As strong as 100% solids epoxy and more scratch resistant.
3. Metallics Epoxy Garage Floor ($7.00 / sq.ft)

Metallics epoxy garage floors are absolutely stunning. They do not have chips. They are showroom smooth floors that make a statement.

The Metallics epoxy floors that we install are only 100% solids quality. They are very technical and require significant expertise to install in order to achieve the desirable outcome. It is imperative to apply a special primer. The actual metallics coat must be 2-3x thicker than normal epoxy in order to create the envious look. Also, a master installer is required to utilize unique tooling procedures and spray chemicals to create a gorgeous outcome.

Advantages of Metallics Epoxy Garage Floor

  • Unique/attention grabber.
  • exceptional chemical and black tire resistance.
  • will make your space a "showroom."
  • Very thick and solid floor
  • very easy to clean

Disadvantages of Metallics Epoxy Garage Floor

  • Can show scratches if abused. Don't drag objects on it.
  • slippery if water is present
  • potential for ambering/yellowing if exposed to direct sunlight frequently. Best to select darker color over white or light color. Silver is optimal.
